So this is a big one. I've wanted to paint this for a while. Hagba, the lifting of the Torah, after reading it, must be one of the most powerful images in Jewish life. This is one shot at it, but I wasn't totally sure if this is the best way to go with it. Perhaps it should be tall and not wide. Maybe the letters in the scroll should be the focus. Or maybe they shouldn't distract. I gave this a couple of goes at it. This is my first.
